Accessibility Statement

Pages of the Ancestors is built for older adults, their families, and care home staff. We treat accessibility as a baseline, not a feature, and aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What works today

• Large, readable text by default (18px+ body, 16px minimum anywhere).
• Adjustable text size and high-contrast mode from the in-app Accessibility menu.
• Keyboard navigation throughout — every action is reachable without a mouse.
• Screen-reader friendly labels on buttons, icons, and form fields.
• Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
• Pages remain usable when zoomed to 200% in your browser.
• Tap targets sized for older fingers and tremor (minimum 48×48 px).
• Voice memo writing for users who find typing tiring.
• Twelve languages including Arabic, Hindi, Mandarin, Spanish, and French.

Known limitations

• Some AI-generated illustrations may not yet have descriptive alt text.
• The Stripe payment form is provided by Stripe and follows their accessibility standards rather than ours.

We're actively working on both.
